Winter is often the most difficult season for people on a low-income as finances are stretched to cover additional costs such as heating. Hidden behind closed doors, there will be families and individuals who find it difficult to cover the extra expenses over the festive season.
However, this is also a season of great generosity, when we know people across our community want to reach out and offer their support.
Salford Foodbank have a number of different ways for you to give…..
Christmas Goody Bag Project
Each year Salford Foodbank run a Christmas Goody Bag project to help spread some festive cheer to people in need across Salford. Alongside our regular food parcels we offer a Christmas Goody Bag filled with Christmas chocolates and treats. It may seem like a small offering, but for those facing crisis and poverty these items are often a luxury they just cannot afford.
Reverse Advent Calendar
Our Reverse Advent Calendar asks you to give each day in Advent, rather than opening a chocolate advent calendar! Download our 2024 Christmas Reverse Advent Calendar, add the requested item to a box each day, then deliver to the Foodbank by Friday 20th December. A great activity to get children involved in – we welcome children (along with their parent or guardian) to deliver donations and take a peek into our warehouse!
General Christmas Donations
As well as Christmas treats, we will also need all the regular food we include in our food parcels. Please download our 2024 Christmas Appeal Poster with more information.
All donations can be dropped direct to our warehouse at 4 Kansas Avenue, Media City, Salford, M50 2GL. There’s plenty of free parking around our warehouse for you pull up and drop off. We are open weekdays 9am-3pm.
Take a look at this link for more details regarding how to give – for example you can order toiletries for us via our Amazon Wish list
