LAMPS Project

14th April 2022

Working together to lift Salford people out of food poverty

LAMPS is the acronym for

Learning About Money Problem Solutions

With the help of a grant from The Trussell Trust, Salford Foodbank is pleased to announce the start of a new 3-year project to help lift Foodbank Clients out of food poverty.

This is initially a three-pronged approach:

Firstly, to put Financial Advisors in each of our Distribution Centres, to directly engage with our clients’ money worries

Secondly, to train a small team of LAMPS Champions, from our volunteer pool,  to offer a ‘triage’ process in the Distribution Centres, and refer clients to professional financial bodies who can both advise and take action to help them (including in-house Advisors).

Thirdly, to offer a series of Money Management Courses to help clients with budgeting, saving and spending less.

We are very excited by this new and highly proactive approach to give extra help and support to our clients, beyond a Food Parcel, and look forward to being able to report good news from our clients in future months.
