Covid-19 Update 3

5th May 2020

From a shaky start, at the end of March, our Home Deliveries have moved to a smooth operation thanks to the clever creation of a postcode based delivery spreadsheet, great dispatch teams, and the van and car drivers who do the deliveries.

During April we were able to pick, pack and deliver 5.3 tonnes of food.

An amazing effort from small (socially distanced) teams of foodbank volunteers, including many new faces.

We continue to be supported by British Gas, Seddons Construction and Manchester United Foundation. Their vans and drivers are delivering food parcels, picking up food stock from supermarkets, and assisting with the set-up of our new HQ/warehouse in MediaCityUK, which has been provided by Peel.

We have received supplies of food, donated by Tesco, Morrisons and B&M. Substantial Grant funding together with individual cash donations, means that we are able to sustain our operation for longer than was originally thought.

It looks likely that this support will be needed in the current Covid-19 and related economic crises.

Please continue to support Salford Foodbank, through volunteering, and through prayer.
